water
Back on the water at last.........i was utterly rubbish on sat, but among the ice and frozen water on sunday I was better. My arms had forgotten the tap down and away mantra, so I kept catching crabs in the water. I will try and remedy that in training.
On nights this week , which is nice that Ive got some time at home in the day time, but don't relish being away all night. Too old at 42 to do nights regularly..
Did the RSPB bird check yesterday and made 10 species, bit disappointing really. Nice pair of green tits and Robin, no woodpeckers though. Will be interesting to see what appears later in the year as theland warms.

Monday
Grey day, little sunshine, cold, grey day, cold, grey day. Get the feeling that Jan is not my favourite month, though as the evenings slowly wind on and the light returns things should get better.
Daffs are up in the garden, popping out so early any frost will kill them off.
Wonder if the birds are back early?
Ladybirds and bees soon..then baby swans and flowers all over the place.

Today, my friends and colleagues I climbed nervously aboard an ergo, set 1000m and gently, very gently pulled away. Stayed strap free to ensure that I concentrated on technique and kept the rating vvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrryyyyyyy low. Came home in a world record time of 5mins which emphasises the slow slow slow slow slow slowness of my return to global domination in the male over 40's knackered knee division. That was 8 hrs ago, and so far my knee feels quite happy. My new glucosamine, chrondrotin and msm tablets also arrived today. Boosted the daily dosage to 1500mg which seems to be the RDA. Talked to a few people and they all state that this mix and doseage is very good. So we wait and see if the crunching stabilises. Today people was a good day. Thank you and good night.

Hello world and happy new year.
Good now that's over with lets get on with the important stuff. Off to Germany on friday to visit Wiesbaden and an old friend who has just returned from living in Shanghai. We visited him in China a few years ago and he took us around Shanghai, which was a wonderful experience. An amazing contradiction of the old and new, sums up the Chinese really, boy they really are going to be a super power. Men working on the high steel at midnight on a sunday, the accepted practice being You do want to work so work. Anyway looking forward to Germany, hoping to have a few nice coffes and strudel, might avoid the pickled cabbage and frankfurters though !
Knee is much better, still hurts occasionally. I can nearly kneel normally without any adverse feeling. It does make some awful grating noises behind the knee cap all the time, I assume that this is going to be standard now until I have to go back for a knee cap replacement in the distant future. Looking forward to getting back on the ergo & a boat eventually. The specialist said by mid january it would be as good as it gets, so in ten days time I will know what the future holds.
